B's Independent Pro-Peace Initiative

Every time you speak, you say a part of a truth and a part of a lie. Nevertheless, don't stay silent.  Make the lie as small as possible and make the truth as big as possible; then shout your words as loud as you can!

From 1945 to 2000, dozens of wars produced some 27 million dead and 35 million refugees.
90% of these victims were civilians.

Here is a list of ongoing wars and conflicts all over the world.

Here is a summary of the main conflicts that have broken out in history according to Wikipedia.

BIPPI is a non-profit initiative that has existed since August 2004 with the aim to provide independent, complete and neutral information about all the conflicts in the world.

In a real democracy, a conscious and well informed public opinion is the best guardian of peace. Knowledge and consciousness are the base of the democratic system; participation is its instrument. When people are given a democratic opportunity to choose between war and peace, it is fundamental to spread correct, complete and understandable information about the conflict in order to aid in its resolution.

We all know very little about most of crises in the world; in addition, much of the information we receive is manipulated because the two sides of a conflict always hide their real reasons for involvement under a mountain of propaganda and lies. Shocking information from both sides causes a confused public opinion.  In a sea of confusing propaganda, it is always hard to find original documents, proper explanations and correct data about both sides of a conflict.

BIPPI works on this matter.

Recalling that:

  • peace is not definitively achieved in Europe;
  • war is still a terrible scourge in the whole world;
  • we must all completely refuse war as a way to solve conflicts;
  • we all should work hard to “win the peace”;
  • consciousness and knowledge are at the base of a true democratic power;
  • we are all responsible for our common house, the planet Earth,

BIPPI’s aim is to work on education for a culture of peace with young and older people.

BIPPI’s goal is to build up a free access Internet site that will provide a dossier with details about every conflict in today's world, including original documents, history, interviews, links and any other possible information, with a neutral and fair approach. Information will be translated from English into the most important European languages, as well as Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Swahili. It will be linked to all the main organisations that work for the construction of peace.

BIPPI’s tools for working towards education for a culture of peace include several thematic international voluntary workcamps, which are organised in partnership with local organisations.

BIPPI’s work is collecting information about the conflicts in the world and training volunteers, with the aim to lead workshops and international workcamps about these topics.

BIPPI is simply the response to the fundamental need of correct, neutral and complete information that is necessary to diffuse knowledge and consciousness about the existing conflicts in a world  where the communication between people is becoming faster and faster, and where everything can be said and easily reach everybody.

In a world where anybody can easily repeat a lie so many times that it will turn into a truth!
